Lt Mark Flynn RN is an Environmental Health Officer for the Royal Navy. Within Navy Command HQ, he was responsible for travel health, medical intelligence reports and disease outbreak controls in deployed units. As part of this role Mark deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan to act as a medical advisor to the UK headquarters. Mark's current role provides Environmental Health advice to the Captain of Portsmouth Naval Base and to vessels alongside.
Mark will be providing an engaging and rather unusual talk about his experiences during deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan in the development of a safety policy, disease monitoring, managing health threats, developing a waste management plan and food hygiene.
